Human being have invented and discovered my activities to keep them busy. Some involves the use of technology and some involves to stay away from it. Their usage depends on a person’s daily life. They want their hobby to be completely opposite from what they regularly do.

Currently, camping is becoming more and more popular for people of all age. Whether it’s a family, couple or friends, whether teenagers, youth or retired, everyone is taking interest in it.

The craze is getting so out of hands that some designated sites are booked months in advance. And most of them are available only for the next summer. Whatever the weather is, people just want to go out.

But are we going to the campsites because we just want to go somewhere? There are many other options available to spend some days outside your home but this particular activity is still getting a huge fan base.

One reason might be the sudden change in the way for people to socialize and hang out, due to limited availability of allowed recreation. Camping is one of the few sports which became accessible earlier than the rest. People who are working from home and do not go to office or any other open space are spending more and more of their weekends in woods.

But the biggest reason is the calmness that it provide from the hustle and bustle of city. Even though we are working from home, it still gets pretty stressing and noisy from time to time. Camping provides you with the sense of returning to your basics: The survival. It makes you value even the smallest things; like finding the water, or building a tent. It makes you realize that we are dependent on technology and comfort so much that even making a morning coffee can become a hassle.

I have had a similar experience. Even though I had every necessary raw material available, converting it to something consumable was a huge challenge. After a certain time I began to appreciate that how far we have come in living standards within few years that these minimal tasks seems hard. But the major advantage is that you get so involved in taking care of yourself that you are ultimately tech-detoxing yourself. By trying to spend time in hiking, walking or cycling, you start seeing the nature clearly after a very long time.

For me it was the firefly. I forgot that there exist such an insect because the last time I saw them, I was a kid. I was completely mesmerized by how beautiful they look even after seeing them again in a long time. Those few days were too good on my mental health, with no air conditioner/heater and sleeping in the natural temperature, I get to have the best sleep after many months.

And there was no need for any alarm as my body was adjusted to the natural clock. I was sleeping and waking up early. My eyes never felt better and my mind was finally at rest. No music was needed. Birds were singing, leaves were rustling and water streams were flowing. For me it was peace.

So enjoy a weekend in the woods. You can go alone or with your friends, however your like. It not only gives you mental peace but physical peace too. Your body will feel good once it adapts to the natural surroundings.

And don’t forget to stay hydrated and sit under a tree if you forget your sunscreen.
