Simple words can describe it as “If you haven’t failed at something, you haven’t really tried anything new, and you simply have failed.” Failure is a feeling from which everyone is afraid of. People often replace this mental-schema with their worst-case-scenario, which they definitely do not want to indulge in, making them often choose a safer path by avoiding risks. It often hinder our imagination, our dreams and possibly some great invention or discovery.

It will never be perfect. But perfect is overrated. Perfect is boring.

— Tina Fey

Failure provides an accumulation of detailed knowledge, but only when we have given our best in order to be successful. When you realize that your worst fear have come true and having lived that moment, you will be better equipped to take another chance by knowing exactly what to expect and how to go through that moment if you fail again.

It is often a mind game where we create these non-existing plots, of disappointing someone, or looking like a failure, or “how can I live my life if I fail” type of questions and even comparing ourselves with others.

But after going through it, the realization would be that all of it doesn’t really matter. Other people don’t have time to judge you, in fact they might be jealous of you for performing something out-of-the-blue or following your passion for which they can never collect enough courage.

About that life-after-failure thoughts, you will be enriched with an invaluable experience which are not taught in books or on internet. It is something which you will remember by heart your whole life and will keep learning from it.

Your failure or success can never be similar to someone else’s. Every person is different, with their situation, their ideas, how much they can really put themselves through to make THAT happen. Stop comparing yourself with other.

Living a life that’s completely safe all the time, isn’t really living. You will certainly find people who will discard your idea as a terrible one or will tell you to play it safe by not doing anything. These people will suddenly vanish when you are going through the struggling process but as soon as you fail they will emerge with their “I told you so” remarks. Ignore these people.

“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all — in which case, you fail by default.”

— J.K. Rowling

Great words up there and true too. We only get one life and its too short to live according to other people’s or society’s expectations. One day when you’ll turn 70, you don’t want to realize that I should’ve at least tried it.

Success after failure makes us realize our capability. Failure builds resilience. Developing a thick skin to tackle life will serve you well. And these experiences makes us even more close to success.

Failure is better than regret. Would you regret not knowing what would’ve happened if you tried to follow your dreams, or would you rather learn and grow and become successful through failing on your way to the top?

Failure is life’s great teacher. It’s nature’s chisel that chips away all the excess, stripping down egos as it molds and shapes us through divine intentions.

It’s okay to fail. But it’s not okay to give up.

— Chris Gardner

Without failure, we would be less capable of compassion, empathy, kindness, and great achievement, we would be less likely to reach for the moon and the stars.
