How to break out from losing motivation?

There cannot be work without motivation.

So you’ve lost your motivation. Motivation to do anything new or different other than your 9 to 5 job or a fix schedule that is tiring enough that it leaves you drained out for doing what you wanted to do. That’s a terrible thing.

After a point you will feel that you have no desires, no dreams, nothing to fight for, nothing to give yourself some satisfaction.. nothing.

You are even losing interest in your hobbies, favourite sport because you are not able to do what you want to do.

So what’s stopping you? Yours daily schedule? That you have to cook your own food daily? Or maybe everyday you promise yourself that you will do it on your free day and somehow spent that day watching TV.

In order to perform something new, a person have to make a habit out of it. Take it a bit by bit. Make it part of your routine. Just like eating, sleeping, make this a part of your life.

A man makes his own way. You should rise above your mind, know yourself better, and make a choice.

Be a revolutionary in your own mind. Fight a battle with your mind, grow your conscience.

Work for Work’s sake — Swami Vivekananda

The risk of being a nobody is more painful than the risk you’ll take to accomplish wonders.

Know yourself first.

Here are few suggestions to help you get started in your journey:

  1. Come out of your comfort zone. Do one thing that scares you every day. It can be anything. Playing online/multiplayer game, color/cut your hairs, learn app designing, or start a new online course etc. This will help you in learning to do something other than your daily schedule and prepare your to face various scenarios.
  2. Start writing down your goals. Design a plan to reach your goal. Mark how long a task should take or how many subtasks it contain. Or it can even be your daily schedule written on a sticky note including a task/activity that you always wanted to do. At the end of the day, go through that list, check the completed tasks. You will realise how much you have achieved in a day.
  3. Talk to a supportive friend/coach. It is always better to have people who are supportive of you and talk to them about how unmotivated you feel. Vent out your feelings. It might first help you relax. And maybe you can ask them for suggestion/tips on how to get started on your journey or how to stay motivated.
  4. Exercise. Have you ever felt relaxed after coming home from work? No, right? And have you ever tried taking a 15 min jog or simple yoga to stretch when you come back home? Try it and then maybe you won’t feel exhausted your whole evening.
  5. Don’t punish yourself. Last but not the least. Don’t punish yourself or overload yourself with stress which will eventually make you lose motivation again. Always be kind to yourself. You have no one to prove your worth except yourself. Have your own plan and follow it.

Do it. It’s never too late.
