Compliments always make us feel good. Both giving and receiving. Feeling appreciated is a basic need and it can be accomplished even with a single word. It increases our inner confidence and makes us feel that we belong in this crowd. Even small things count. Telling someone that their necklace is beautiful or their hairs look amazing, the shirt is awesome or they love their outfit. It not only boosts our self-esteem but inspires positivity around us.

I can live for two months on a good compliment.

— Mark Twain

Giving compliments makes you relationship stronger. Even if its your friend, coworker or just a person whom you meet regularly, it creates a bond which will eventually start working both ways. When they know that they are getting appreciated of real, they might also try to give compliments to others.

— Mother Teresa

Their are many reasons for a person to never give a positive feedback. It can be either they are too busy, they think only about themselves or a sense of inferiority which they might feel after saying nice things.

A compliment doesn’t always have to about someone’s looks or dressing sense, a few good words about their work, or about an achievement of their’s can make a big difference. It is a great way to spread joy and love.

What we admire in others, we can foster in ourselves. Research have shown that “giving compliment is actually a form of leadership and influence”. You will be considered as a positive person and others would want to be like you and follow you.

If you see something beautiful in someone, speak it.

— Ruthie Lindsey

No matter who we are and what level of success we’ve achieved, everyone appreciates a sincere compliment. Everyone needs an assurance. It is a great chance to make new friends, to get to hear a new story or to learn something new.It can brighten our day or even change the trajectory of our lives. It gives you immense confidence to do something unique. And it doesn’t take anything from you.

Finally, it’s important to note that our good deed always benefits us. We feel good when we make others feel appreciated. Creating these sentiments of goodwill also make it clear that we are confident enough in our abilities to celebrate the successes of our neighbours.

As Abraham Lincoln said, “Everybody likes a compliment.” It costs us nothing and it has the power to change the world.
